The sand is calling, and history is about to be made! Soak up the sun, kick off your shoes, and dive into a full day of fast-paced, high-energy Beach Wrestling. For the very first time ever, AAC Hercules and the city of Amsterdam are bringing the ultimate summer grappling party to the shores of the Sloterplas! Whether you're a seasoned competitor or stepping onto the sand for the very first time, you'll love the simple rules, electric atmosphere, and unbeatable community vibe. Round up your friends, your family, and your most competitive self — be part of this historic premiere and a showdown you don't want to miss.

🏆 Who Can Compete?

Beach Wrestling age groups and weight classes (no weight allowance)

• Boys 15-17 Male — 50kg; 55kg; 60kg; 70kg; 80kg; 90kg
• Men +18 years — 60kg; 70kg; 80kg; 90kg; +90kg
• Women +17 years — 50kg; 60kg; 70kg; +70kg

Each division has weight classes to keep the matches fair and fierce.

🎒 What to Bring

• Water, food and Snacks
• Government-Issued ID (for age verification)
• Beach Towel and Hat
• Men's uniform: Board shorts (no pockets/zippers/buckles) or compression shorts (must end above the knee) + shirtless
• Women: Board shorts or compression shorts + sports bra or form-fitting rashguard
• Bare Feet Only — no shoes in the competition area!

📋 Weigh-Ins and Rules Briefing

• Weigh-in location: AAC Hercules clubhouse - Dr. Meurerlaan 6, 1067 SM Amsterdam.
• Weigh-Ins: 9:00 – 10:00 AM (you must weigh in for your registered class).
• Rules Meeting / Briefing: 10:15 AM sharp inside the clubhouse (mandatory attendance for all competitors).
• Parking & Logistics: Please note! Parking near the beach is a payment parking zone. However, parking at AAC Hercules is completely free, and from the clubhouse, it is about a 15-minute walk to the beach. After the briefing, all competitors will walk together to the competition arena!

Important rules to keep in mind:

• Wrestlers’ fingers and toenails shall be neatly trimmed with no sharp edges.
• Wrestlers must be well-groomed, and their hair and skin shall be free of any greasy, oily, or sticky substance (so no sunscreen applied right before the match).
• Coaches are not allowed in the field of play and will remain with the spectators.
• Don't forget to link the correct email to your Smoothcomp account for event updates!

🤼 Match Format and Scoring

• Match Length: Single 3-minute period
• Scoring: 1 point for a takedown, forcing an opponent's body part to the ground or out of bounds, or earning a caution against your opponent. 3 points for exposing your opponent's back to the sand.
• Victory: First to 3 points wins!
• If tied, the winner is decided by: highest scoring move → last point scored → lighter weight → draw number.

Register now on Smoothcomp to secure your spot — and tag your training partners while you're at it!

• Regular: €25 - Between June 25th and August 13th
• Late Registration: €35 — Between August 14th and August 18th
• Registration closes: July 18th at 23:59. No registrations will be accepted after this time.
