Ready to test your skills in the cage? Leitrim Novice MMA Championship is an opportunity for novice, or early stage amateur fighters to gain experience in a safe environment and to gain experience inside the cage. Compete in a safely run novice MMA event with professional refereeing ensuring fairness and a cageside medic prioritising your safety. It's your chance to experience the thrill of competition in a controlled and supportive environment!

6 meter cage to be used

Experience level

BEGINNER: 0-3 Novice MMA matches or less than 2 years combat sports experience

INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED: 3+ Novice MMA matches, 1+ Amateur MMA matches or more than 2 years combat sports experience

We aim to have multiple matches for all competitors

Any competitor found to be entering beginner where they should be intermediate/advanced due to criteria stated will be disqualified on the day.

Rules

Adult MMA -

3 x 3minute rounds

Straight foot/achilles lock is the only leg submission attack allowed

No twister or neck cranks

Knees to body allowed standing and on the ground, but no shots to the back at all

No ground and pound to head

Referee can stop fights due to timidity/overmatched

Fights with nosebleeds will be allowed to continue unless the cut team and/or referee deem the bleed too excessive

Weight classes

Adult weight classes are done under official unified weight classes - bantam, feather, light etc

Early bird price is €30

Normal price is €38

Credit for next event given in the event of no match up being available, we will try our best to match all.

Any pull outs/cancellations before midnight Thursday 21st May will be given a credit for future event, any cancellations after this will at the fighters expense.

Free entry for 2 coaches per team(3 coaches if the team have 3 or more fighters)

Spectators - €10 each cash, sum up or revolut accepted
