The 2026 BJJFP Philippine National Jiu Jitsu Championships is the Federation's premier annual championship and one of the longest-running Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitions in the Philippines.
Open to all competitors from every academy and affiliation nationwide, the National Championships brings together the country's finest athletes to compete for one of the sport's highest honours—the title of BJJFP Philippine National Champion.
Hosted by Ayala Malls Circuit Makati in partnership with BJJFP and Warrior Legends, this prestigious championship features Gi and No-Gi competition across Kids, Juveniles, Adults and Masters, showcasing the highest standard of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competition in the country. The event is open to all Nationalities.
Winning a National Championship is more than earning a gold medal. It represents months of preparation, technical excellence, determination and sportsmanship. Whether you are competing for your first national medal or pursuing a National Championship title, every athlete has the opportunity to test themselves against the nation's best.
Double Elimination Brackets
Double Elimination brackets 4 and bove, everyone will have a 2nd chance if they lose a match.
BJJFP is committed to developing athletes capable of competing successfully at the highest international level here or overseas .
To achieve this, our competitions incorporate internationally recognised standards from both the JJIF (Ju-Jitsu International Federation) and the IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation).
Children's & Junior Divisions
Children's and Junior divisions (U8–U18) compete under the JJIF Ruleset, including:
- Official JJIF weight divisions
- Golden Score system for tied matches
- Same-day weigh-in while wearing the Gi and belt
- JJIF competition rules and procedures
These divisions prepare young athletes for National Team opportunities and future JJIF regional, continental and international competitions while continuing to strengthen Brazilian Jiu Jitsu throughout the Philippines.
Adult & Masters Divisions
Adult and Masters divisions compete under the current IBJJF Ruleset, including:
- Official IBJJF weight divisions
- Standard IBJJF match times
- Current IBJJF competition procedures
- Same-day weigh-in before the first match
This ensures competitors gain valuable experience under internationally recognised standards while preparing for major international events.

Competitors must arrive at least one hour before their scheduled match.

Registration
All competitors must register individually through Smoothcomp using their own email address.
Every athlete must have an individual Smoothcomp profile, including competitors registering through team entries or direct payment.
Smoothcomp allows athletes and coaches to:
- Register for the championship
- Edit registrations before the correction deadline
- View brackets
- View match schedules
- Receive event updates

Brackets & Match Schedule
Provisional Brackets
Released on the Monday before the event.
Correction Deadline
Thursday – 11:59 PM before the event.
Competitors are responsible for checking their registration, division, academy and weight class.
After the correction deadline, all brackets become final.
No changes will be accepted on competition day.
Weigh-In Procedure
- Weigh-in takes place before your first match.
- Competitors must weigh in wearing their Gi and belt.
- Follow the official competition schedule.
- Failure to complete the weigh-in when called may result in disqualification.
Uniform Requirements
Gi
- White, Blue or Black Gi only
- Must comply with current IBJJF standards
- Gi and belt must be clean and in good condition
- Proper fit is required
No-Gi
Kids
- Any coloured rash guard permitted
- Black shorts preferred
Adults
- Black competition shorts
- Competition rash guard
- Rash guard must display a minimum of 10% of the competitor's belt colour
- No loose-fitting T-shirt
Eligibility
- Amateur MMA athletes may compete at White Belt.
- Judo Black Belts, National Team Wrestlers and Professional MMA athletes must compete at Blue Belt or above.
BJJFP reserves the right to review and amend competitor eligibility where necessary to ensure fair competition.
Important Information
- Follow your match schedule via Smoothcomp.
- Listen carefully for announcements throughout the day.
- Athletes not present after three calls may be disqualified.
- Masters competitors may compete in a younger Masters age division where permitted.
- Adults and Masters may not compete in an older age division.
- Once a two-person bracket has been published, competitors cannot be transferred to another division.

Youth & Masters Age Divisions
Youth
Youth competitors can compete at their age group and above, but not in the age group below.
For example, an athlete entering the U12 Division must still be under 12 years of age on the eligibility date.
Masters
Masters competitors may compete in their own Masters age division or a younger Masters including Adult divisions.
Additional Information
- Single-entry competitors may transfer to the Absolute Division any time before the registration deadline.
- Division changes cannot be made on competition day.
- Medals may be collected from the podium at any time during the event.
- Competitors should regularly monitor Smoothcomp for schedule updates and bracket changes prior to the correction deadline
- All competitors are to be at the venue at least one hour before the event
Code of Conduct
BJJFP expects the highest standards of sportsmanship from all competitors, coaches and spectators.
All participants are expected to:
- Respect referees and event officials.
- Display good sportsmanship at all times.
- Treat fellow competitors with courtesy and respect.
- Follow the directions of event staff.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude throughout the championship.
Unsportsmanlike conduct, abusive language or behaviour that brings the sport into disrepute may result in penalties or disqualification.
Coaching
One coach is permitted inside the competition area for Children's and Junior matches only.
To minimise congestion and allow officials to perform their duties efficiently, coaches must leave the competition area immediately after the conclusion of each match.
No coaching is permitted inside the competition area for Adult divisions.
No spectators or unauthorised photographers are permitted inside the competition area.
Photography & Media
BJJFP photographers and approved media personnel are permitted inside the competition area but must wear the yellow vest .
Photographers are welcome but must register at the Administration Table before the event.
Approved photographers are encouraged to share event photographs with BJJFP for publication.
