Experience levels

• Beginners | Under 1 year of Combat Sport experience

• Intermediate | 1-2 years of Combat Sport experience

• Advanced | Over 2 years of Combat Sport experience

This includes ALL forms of combat sports, people involved in BJJ, Boxing, Karate, TKD, Judo or any other combat sports need to enter the appropriate division.

Age Groups

U8: for athletes aged 7 and under

U10: for athletes aged 8 and 9 years old

U12: for athletes aged 10 and 11 years old

U14: for athletes aged 12 and 13 years old

U16: for athletes aged 14 and 15 years old

U18: for athletes aged 16 and 17 years old

Rules

Bouts will be 2x2minute rounds(where a match is drawn, there will be a 3rd round) except for the u18 division which will be 3x2minute rounds as standard

10 point must system used for judging

No headshots.

No leglock submissions u8, u10 and u12, straight footlock allowed at u14, u16 & u18.

No striking the back/spine.

No striking the throat.

Knees to the body are allowed standing and but not grounded.

Guillotine chokes must have one arm in at any age group from u12 and below(u14, u16 and u18 do not need arm in). Standing guillotine allowed u14, u16 & u18 but no jumping/flying attempts.

Equipment/Attire

All athletes must wear a tight fitting rashguard/compression top, no cotton T-shirts permitted

All athletes must wear MMA shorts/shorts with no pockets, hard plastic or metal on them

Gumshield(even though no head shots allowed)

MMA Sparring gloves(domed, not pro style)

Groin Guard for boys

MMA Shin pads(must cover shin and foot of athlete)

Finger and Toe nails MUST be cut short before entering the MMA Arena

Long hair needs to be tied up, and braids must be connected and shortened so they cannot accidentally strike an opponent

Venue/Staffing

This competition will take place in Morris Martial Arts gym in Carrick On Shannon.

The matches will take place in a 6meter MMA Arena(cage) and we will have a referee, 3 judges and a timekeeper. A medic will also be present.

Weigh in

Weigh in will begin at 9.00am with the younger ages prioritised as the u8 division will begin at 10am. Please ensure to weigh in at least 1 hour before matches to avoid missing your match as the timing of all matches on smoothcomp can change.

Regular: €25

Free entry for 2 coaches per team(3 coaches if the team have 3 or more fighters), free entry for ONE parent per child under 15.

Spectators - €10 each cash, sum up or revolut accepted

Matching

We will do our best to match all entrants with 2 matches, in the case of no other people in your division, we will possibly move you up weight class, or age class. We will do our best to reach out to coaches/parents to confirm these changes, any changes in which people are unhappy about can be undone. In the event there is no suitable division change available a credit will be issued for a future event.
