The NZBJJF is proud and honored to announce our second championship in the vibrant Taranaki region a community with deep roots in martial arts and a growing passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

This historic event marks a major milestone in our mission to bring authentic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to every corner of New Zealand, and we couldn't be more excited to open this new chapter alongside the incredible people of Taranaki.

NZBJJF PRESENTS: TARANAKI OPEN JIU-JITSU CHAMPIONSHIP

Get ready for an unforgettable day of high-level Jiu-Jitsu! The Taranaki Open is a 5-star NZBJJF-sanctioned event, featuring both Gi and No-Gi divisions, and welcoming kids, teens, juveniles, and adults of all belt levels.

Whether you’re stepping on the mats for the first time or you're a seasoned competitor chasing gold, this is your chance to be part of something special.

📍 LOCATION: The Y (YMCA Taranaki)

🕒 EVENT SCHEDULE:

• 8:30 AM – Weigh-in & Check-in Opens
• 9:30 AM – Matches Begin
• Morning: Kids Divisions
• Afternoon: Juvenile & Adult DivisionsThis is a full-day event.

All athletes must hold a valid NZBJJF membership to compete!

⚖️ WEIGHT CLASSES & IBJJF RULES:

Athletes weighing over their registered limit will be disqualified.No changes to divisions allowed on the day. No refunds will be issued once brackets go live.
