KIDS JIU-JITSU LEAGUE NATIONALS 2026

1st Edition | New Zealand Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (NZBJJF)

Welcome to the inaugural Kids Jiu-Jitsu League Nationals Championship, a historic milestone for youth Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in New Zealand.

Hosted by the NZBJJF, this prestigious event has been awarded a special 5-Star National Ranking in recognition of its importance to the development of young athletes and the future of our sport.

On 11 October 2026, Auckland City will become the home of New Zealand’s largest youth Jiu-Jitsu gathering, bringing together athletes, families, coaches, and academies from across the country to celebrate excellence, sportsmanship, and the values that make our community strong.

This championship is dedicated exclusively to Kids, Teenagers, and Juvenile athletes, providing a professional and inspiring platform where young competitors can challenge themselves, create lifelong memories, and compete for the highest youth honors in New Zealand Jiu-Jitsu.

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISIONS

The following divisions will crown official KJJL National Champions:

• Junior Male – Gi

• Junior Female – Gi

• Juvenile Male – Gi

• Juvenile Female – Gi

• Juvenile Male – No-Gi

• Juvenile Female – No-Gi

NATIONAL RANKING POINTS

As one of the most important events of the season, competitors will earn valuable National Ranking Points:

🥇 Gold Medal – 60 Points

🥈 Silver Medal – 30 Points

🥉 Bronze Medal – 15 Points

A valid NZBJJF Membership is required for all competitors participating in NZBJJF-sanctioned events.

AGE DIVISIONS

NZBJJF follows the official IBJJF Year-of-Birth system, where an athlete’s competition age is determined as of 31 December 2026.

For example:

An athlete born on 12 September 2013 will compete in the 13-Year-Old division.

RULES & WEIGHT DIVISIONS

This championship follows official IBJJF rules for both Gi and No-Gi divisions.

Weight categories are displayed as net body weight, with Gi allowances shown in brackets where applicable.

Athletes and parents are strongly encouraged to review the rules and verify their selected weight division before registration closes.

CHECKING DAY

The day immediately following the close of registrations is designated as Checking Day.

During this period, athletes must verify:

• Name• Academy• Age Division• Belt Rank• Weight Division• Opponent Availability

Changes to registrations and refund requests must be completed during Checking Day through Smoothcomp.

After Checking Day, registrations become final and non-refundable.

REFUND POLICY

Until Registration Closes:• 100% Refund available through Smoothcomp

Checking Day:• Partial Refund may be available

After Checking Day / Once Brackets Are Published:• No Refunds

💸 Early Bird Registration Discount available during the designated Early Bird period.

🥋 Register for both Gi and No-Gi divisions and receive a special bundle discount.

IMPORTANT WEIGH-IN NOTICE

To ensure fairness and maintain the integrity of the competition:

Any Kids or Juvenile athlete who exceeds the weight limit of their registered division at the official weigh-in will be immediately disqualified.

No division changes will be permitted on the event day or after brackets have been published.

No refunds will be issued under these circumstances.

SPECTATOR ENTRY

👧 Children: $6.00

🧑 Adults: $10.00

Active NZBJJF and IBJJF Black Belts and registered Coaches receive complimentary entry.

⚠️ LIMITED CAPACITY ⚠️

Only 600 athlete spots are available for this championship.

To ensure a high-quality competition experience and maintain event standards, registrations will be strictly limited to 600 competitors.

Once capacity is reached, registrations will close automatically, regardless of the advertised registration deadline.

Athletes and academies are strongly encouraged to register early to secure their place at New Zealand's premier youth Jiu-Jitsu championship.
