Semi-Marathon de Novo Mesto

As the saying goes in Slovenia 🇸🇮: We weren’t here to pick mushrooms! 🍄 But you’ll want to remember that on the Novo Mesto Half Marathon 😉. Located in Lower Carniole, the event welcomes you amid its world‑famous archaeological heritage to — not to pick up stones either 😂 — but to challenge you on the race of your choice! Between the 5 km, the 10 km and the half, you’re spoiled for choice! And for extra fun, the event also offers kids’ races 👦, a 22 km walk or a 15 km run and a canine cross for our fluffy pairs 🐶.

The start of the half-marathon takes place in the historic center 🏛️ of Novo Mesto. From there, runners move through the town, weaving along the bend of the Krka river But yes, a two-minute butterfly moment! 🤪 This river, you’ll run along almost the entire course! 🔁 Indeed, the route is in a loop… And what a loop! 😳 Between urban sections and more natural stretches, you’ll move from busy asphalt to shaded banks in a few strides. The course is rolling and strategic, perfect for aiming for a personal record ⏱️ or simply enjoying scenery that alternates between old alleys, historic bridges and bucolic landscapes 🌳. And don’t be surprised if you spot some four‑legged spectators or super excited kids along the route: the vibe here is friendly, gentle and cute, just what Finishers ❤️ love.
