After exploring several of his works, you now want to pay tribute to the famous writer Jules Verne? ✍️ We’ve got the solution for you: come Run Jules Verne! 🏃‍♀️ The city of Amiens, located in the Hauts-de-Francein the department of the Sommeorganizes this annual race named after it, and this since 2014, in tribute to the writer who settled in Amiens in 1871. If you’re lucky, you’ll get to admire during a loop 👆 of 5 km, or two loopsof10 km ✌️, the historic sites of the city under bright sunshine 🌞 and a pleasant temperature. Do check the weather, though, as you might get a touch of rain ☔️. But don’t worry! It won’t be too"Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas"! 😅 The perk: you can also tackle the 5 km route by hiking or in Nordic walking 🚶.

If you’re looking for a race without particular difficulty and accessible to all levels, Run Jules Verne is the race for you! Thanks to it, 5 km will be added to your runner’s story 🏃🏽. It’s also possible to register for 10 km, giving you a chance to observe a second time each place – in case your peak speed didn’t leave enough time the first time! 😜 This is an unmissable event that drew more than 4 300 participants last year.

Now, let’s talk scenery! ➡️ The race will start at the Boulevard Carnot. Along your route, you’ll surely be impressed by the Cathédrale Notre-Dame d’Amiens ⛪️ and its vault of 42.30 m (no, not 42 km, this isn’t a marathon 😉). It’s a symbol of the city, just like the statue topped by the sublime Dewailly clock at Place Marie Sans Chemises 👔. Don’t worry! You won’t miss the Hôtel de Ville d’Amiens, with its imposing build (don’t be jealous, you’ve got the build of an athlete 😎). After weaving through the modern city center, you’ll see the famous Jules Verne Circus 🎪. Finally, you’ll reach the Rue Amiral Lejeune, where the finish line will be. After that, you might still feel like enjoying the partywith musical performances 🎷 and the brass bands on the start/finish areas and along the course 🏁. You can also stop by the partner village on Rue Caumartin. But don’t let yourself lose focus: the race has the "regional label" which allows you to qualify for the Championnats de France d'Athlétisme of the 10 km and 5 km 🏆.
