La Saint-Pol Morlaix

One of the oldest road races celebrates its 50th anniversary and the organizer will light up for the occasion 🔥! This year’s Saint-Pol Morlaix edition is packed with surprises, including the presence of Pierre-Ambroise Bosse, the event sponsor! So, ready to race next to the French 800m record holder (if you can keep up 😅)?

Saint-Pol-Morlaix is one of France’s oldest road races and was founded in the year of the death of Pablo Picasso in 1973, the tile canvas 🖌️ ! Expect a race not just rich in color but in runners, as thousands of French and internationals will accompany you through this legendary city-to-city event. See you in November in Brittany, in Finistère nord, to run along rivers and not under downpours (we hope) ☔. And yes, rest assured, the Golden Belt climb is to the west, but the weather can also be kind. So, lace up, surrounded by top athletes and amateur runners, to tackle this mythical race nicknamed the "Breton Diamond'.

To shine like a diamond (Shine bright like a diamond as Rihanna says), you can take part in two distances: 10 km and 22 km. The 10 km Taulé - Morlaix is one of the largest 10 km races in France (great by its number of participants, since 10 km will always be 10 km 😅) or the star race, the Saint-Pol half marathon in Morlaix, the 22 km edition this year. Morlaix has become this year’s SAINT-POL MORLAIX of 22 km. Why, you ask? Organizers wanted to offer you a grander and more festive start from the Cathedral of Saint-Pol-de-Léon, come on, we’re sure you can do 900m more. Before you sparkle ✨, make sure you warm up well from the start! The two race courses will be identical and will wow you. You’ll get to see the Atlantic coast (without the border) 🌊, the Morlaix river and the Penzé river, offering a eye-catching escape (not to steal the diamond, just savor the moment 🤩). You’ll also get to admire the Breton countryside views along a generally flat terrain that will take you along wide roads and some tight spots, there are plenty 🤷 ! The beauty of the green spaces will make you forget the few gentle climbs on the course and don’t worry, the four final kilometers will be completely smooth so you can unleash the beasts!

And just as a diamond needs light to shine, the race needs people to glow, which is why you’ll be carried by the melody of the folk music groups from the 7 communes the 22 km passes through. No matter the distance you run, you’ll finish the challenge in the heart of Morlaix. Get ready for a big-day vibe, like an arrival of the Tour de France on the Champs-Élysées that will echo your mythical finish at the Morlaix Viaduct with thousands of spectators (we mean every word). And to top it off, several physiotherapists will be onsite to pamper you after your race. You’ll even receive a high-quality technical T-shirt as a reward, yes indeed, the Bretons are the best. 😎

We haven’t lied to you—this charming race has everything to satisfy your thirst for athletic challenge and discovery; it’s a bit like the Youkounkoun of France! After completing your challenge, enjoy being in the heart of the Cité du Viaduc to wander along narrow lanes and discover its cobblestone streets and beautiful pondaled houses. It’s also the perfect chance to treat your taste buds to the local dish: du Léon kig ha farz and the local dessert par excellence: the Morlaix pavé, a custard made with almonds and local apples, a delicious treat 🍰. For a champion’s digestion, don’t hesitate to jog a few kilometers south to the legendary Monts d’Arrée ⛰️, one of Brittany’s oldest mountain ranges.
