Even though we're neighbors, we don't always understand each other! 😂 Where you think you’ll get a rejection from your Belgian best friend to go for a run 20 miles in his capital 🇧🇪, you’re actually getting a big "yes" and the promise of being kept updated on the registration process. There’s plenty to lose your waffles, right? 🧇 See you in the Brussels region, Brussels-Capital Region, in Belgium, for an exceptional race... 🌟 One of the most famous in Europe! 🇪🇺

Anyway, you’ll need to bring out your mouse 🐭 faster than your shadow if you want to snag your pass for the 20 km of Brussels (to be pronounced "Brusssselles"), please) because the event is so popular that it brings together a staggering 140 nationalities and more than 38,000 participants 🤯. Yes, you’ll need to bite your lip at the start because you won’t really be able to settle into your target pace 🎯 in the first few hundred meters, despite the organization of 6 successive waves 🌊. On the other hand, once you’re rolling, you’ll be able to unleash your aerial stride and fully enjoy a course featuring small fries 🍟 with onions 🧅. You can also participate by walking, and yes the walkers’ start will be at 11:30 AM.

Since its second edition, which dates back to 1981, this race has made its home in the sumptuous Parc du Cinquantenaire, built in 1880 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Belgian independence 🆓. There are even locker rooms available to runners in the Royal Museum of the Army and Military History! 🤴 The loop designed by the organizers first goes past the Palace of Justice ⚖️, then to the Bois de la Cambre (a pretty foray into greenery 🌿) before taking the Hulpe road and joining the Woluwe Park. It will then be time to turbo for the last 3 km back to the starting park 🚩. Throughout this near half-marathon, you’ll be able to admire the remarkable architecture of the Belgian capital and enjoy the festive atmosphere with wildly enthusiastic crowds, drumbeats 🥁, percussions, DJ... The crowd has good mojo for boosting motivation and sharing happy moments! 😀

For sharing purposes, the 20 km of Brussels don’t work out that way: organizers have imagined formats that put solidarity first 🤝, whether it’s taking part in the inter-company challenge (teams of at least 10 people with the top 5 times counted for the final standings), to support a charitable cause… Or to push a jonelle! 💪 We don’t know what it will be for you after your race, but we, on a mission for the 20 km of Brussels which undeniably packs many advantages: proximity, Francophonie, the beauty of the course, solidarity 😍.
