Ready for another adventure? The Pisa Marathon (or Maratona di Pisa) is on the horizon 👀. Of course, when you think of Pisa, you mainly picture the famous Leaning Tower and tourists pretending to hold the building up with their hands 📸. Yet this city in the Tuscany on the northwestern Mediterranean coast of Italy 🇮🇹 has a lot more to offer! It overflows with buildings — all crisp and impressive — such as pink brick Renaissance architecture, brick-rose palazzi typical to Tuscany, churches, the Crosses of Languedoc inherited from the Crusades, or charming picturesque alleys 😍. The Maratona di Pisa offers not only the classic road race distance, the formidable 42.195 km, but also a half-marathon. And since it’ll be late December, it’s the perfect time to celebrate Christmas early! 😎 A Family Run under the banner of Christmas, the "Christmas Family Run" 🎅, stretching for 4 miles (6.44 km) will be available for families 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦. This one is also perfect for smashing your personal best! A classic program designed to help convert even the most hesitant family members or friends! 😉 All events start at the Piazza Daniele Manin 📍, just steps from the Piazza del Duomo, and finish at the foot of the Leaning Tower, near the Duomo (the famous cathedral, emblem of Pisa Romanesque art with its exuberant façade), the Battistero and its massive dome and the Camposanto(monumental cemetery) 🥰. Whatever you choose, the urban and historic scene of the city will be your playground 🛝.
