About this event

In May, the Itzer Trail Spring invites you to Itzer, in the Moroccan Middle Atlas, for a spring edition rich in challenges. Choose among 100 km (2,800 mD+), 56 km (1,300 mD+) or 10 km (150 mD+), with the option to combine the distances across 2 or 3 events to reach 100 km in total. Traverse stunning landscapes around Sidi Ali Lake and the Itzer dam, while supporting local association initiatives.

The Itzer Trail Spring is back for its spring edition! 🌼 In the month of May, get ready for a wild experience in Itzer, in the region of the Moyen Atlas, in Morocco 🇲🇦. Distance-wise, there’s something for everyone with a trail of 100 km (2 800 mD+) for the fittest 💪, a half-marathon 56 km (1 300 mD+) for the brave 🕺, and a 10 km (150 mD+) for the challengers 😎. For this amazing event, the organizers have decided not to do things the usual way. Depending on your preferences, you can participate in 1 of the events, 2 of the events or 3 of the events! 📌

Let us explain: you’ll have the option to combine the 35 km and the 21 km to complete 56 km in two days! ⚡ Or, if you’re really up for a big challenge, you can register for the three races to complete 100 km! 🔥 You’ll kick off this getaway on Friday, May 16, 2025 with the 44 km, then you’ll tackle the 35 km the next day and finish with the 21 km on Sunday! 📆 In any case, this three-stage challenge will take you through a total of 100 km and 2 800 mD+! 🥵 Yes, for this one it’s best to start lace-up early in the year! 👟 If it helps, know that you will have the chance to run in some of the most beautiful places a runner could hope to traverse! 🏞️ And anyway, if you’re not ready for the 100 km, you can always opt for an easier distance—that’s what it’s there for 😉.

Since its inception in 2019, the race has focused on several important aspects: the fight against poverty, the implementation of development projects for the local communityor, more broadly, the creation of a culture of solidarity 🙌. Itzer is a rural commune in the province of Midelt, in the Moyen Atlas 🌍. It’s a protected area, far from mass tourism, where nature is master of its rights! 🌿 Let yourself be carried by the beauty of the landscape with, notably, the Lac Sidi Ali 💧, which will appear on your path like a mirage! The Ait Lhaj Itzer Damoffers a view of a majestic mountain range 🌄. So, yes, you’re probably wondering, and the answer is yes: in May, in this region of the Morocco, we hover around 20°C. It’s hot 🌡️ for running. So, don’t forget to pack right! A cap 🧢 and sunglasses 🕶️ belong in your bag! It’s in moments like these that you’ll be glad to learn you’ll also have a chance to roam through the oak and cedar forest 🌳. Yes, a little shade sometimes doesn’t hurt…

Even though it’s tough, you can also tell yourself that you’re running for a good cause. Indeed, the event places a strong emphasis on the nonprofit sector 🤝. By the end of 2024, the race’s association, founded by the youths of Itzer, had invested more than 400 thousand euros in numerous actions: the sponsorship of orphans, medical caravans, improvements and work in schools with donations of new school materials, tutoring and many other charity initiatives! ❤️

Running is also an opportunity for you to collaborate and help others! 💌 So, hooked by this Itzer Trail Spring sensational? 🤘
