In the Villeurbanne Run, take part in a local initiative that promotes physical activity and a friendly atmosphere. Three distances are available for you – 5 km, 10 km and the 21 km half marathon – with 4 km of walking, on roads and paths around the city center, including the Feyssine Park. A race committed to the planet, it encourages a zero-waste mindset and sustainable solutions, while offering then a sightseeing tour of Lyon.
A healthy mind in a healthy body, that’s essential and the Villeurbanne Strides are part of this local awareness drive to encourage physical activity. 🏃
Join the movement and head toward the Rhone, just a stone’s throw from Lyon for a road race that’s out of this world! Since 1991, the FDV (their little nickname for insiders) brings together thousands of race bibs in April to celebrate running through the solidarity and friendliness. 🤝
What could be better than three distances to bring together runners of all ages and levels? With options of 5 km, 10 km, and Villeurbanne’s half-marathon, you’ll also be able to complete 4 km of walking to be part of this sporty and warm wave. All of them festive in their own right, you’ll traverse the city center in search of your personal best! The shortest distance will loop you toward the greatest number. The 10 km will be laid out to help you set a new record with a rolling course, and the 21 km will run along the skyscrapers and through the Parc de la Feyssine. Your Villeurbanne race will take you on tarmacked roads and surrounding trails, it’s time to train your summer body so give it your all! 👙 🩳
The Villeurbanne Strides are a race with a mission for the planet! Eh eh, you didn’t see that coming, did you! So you can take part in the experience of a zero-waste (or nearly) runner by using sorting bins, compostable toilets and taps to BAN plastic water bottles! ♻️
Once your race is finished, you’ll have the chance to do some sporty sightseeing, because Lyon is just a stone’s throw away with plenty of strolling options! You’ll see, wandering through the avenues of the Parc de la Tête d’Or or climbing the colline de Fourvière to admire the basilique that will leave you spellbound ⛪. And for culinary delights, step into a Lyonnais bouchon in the 1st arrondissement, you’ll find plenty of ideas to top off your plate in the gastronomy capital. 😋
