L'AJ Bell Great South Run est l'une des courses sur route de 10 miles les plus populaires du Royaume-Uni, attirant chaque année plus de 25 000 coureurs à Portsmouth. Le parcours est rapide, plat et imprégné du caractère côtier, offrant une vue imprenable sur le Solent, longeant le front de mer de Southsea et des sites emblématiques tels que le HMS Victory, le château de Southsea et les chantiers navals historiques. Réputé pour le soutien de son public, le parcours est jalonné de zones de musique live, de stands de soutien à des associations caritatives et de systèmes de sonorisation qui maintiennent l'énergie à son maximum du début à la fin. En plus de la course phare de 10 miles du dimanche, le samedi propose une course de 5 km et des épreuves pour les jeunes de 3 à 15 ans, pour un week-end de course bien rempli. Chaque participant reçoit une médaille personnalisée, des goodies après la course et la possibilité de faire la fête dans la zone Après Run avec musique, nourriture et boissons. Depuis plus de 30 ans, cet événement est devenu une course incontournable du calendrier britannique, avec un accent particulier sur la durabilité et la collecte de fonds.
