L'Antarctic Ice Ultra est l'ultramarathon le plus extrême du continent austral, avec plusieurs distances ultra, ainsi que des formats semi-marathon, marathon et relais 24 heures. Organisée à l'oasis Schirmacher, dans la Terre de la Reine Maud, en Antarctique oriental, la course est entourée de plateaux de glace et d'un terrain glaciaire accidenté, ce qui en fait un véritable test polaire. La première édition de 2024 a établi les premiers records officiels sur le continent pour les distances de 50 et 100 miles. Organisée par Runbuk Inc., l'équipe derrière le marathon de l'Antarctique et le marathon du pôle Nord, cette course attire les coureurs d'ultra-marathon à la recherche d'un environnement rare et sauvage pour repousser leurs limites. L'option équipe ajoute un défi d'endurance collaboratif, tandis que les coureurs en solo peuvent tenter de battre des records continentaux dans plusieurs catégories.
