If that’s your motto, the Trail of the Two Lovers is made for you. A must-visit in the Andelle valley, this trail takes place in the small town of Pitres, in Eure, Normandy. You’re promised a discovery of Normandy like never before. In April, don’t show a single thread! The weather can be fickle, but don’t worry—the course and your pace will heat things up. 🌡️

The organizers of this race didn’t skimp on the distances 😁! A short Trail of 25 km as well as longer trails, the Gran’Trail of 45 km and the Maxi’Trail of 65 km. Indeed, the Trail des deux Amants is renowned as one of the toughest in Normandy. But get motivated and go with your partner; it’ll be more fun and you’ll be in the race theme. 💕

Enough talk—what about the scenery 🖼️ ? “A pond with ducks, apple trees in the meadow, and the sweet Normandy cider, as Stone and Charden used to say. No more jokes, your trail will begin along the Seine, which will offer a view of the Îles de Freneuse and the Trait. You’ll tackle a series of climbs and descents, but don’t worry—you're used to it, right ⛰️ ? Your playground will be the Andelle valley and its forests but also the Étang des 2 amants that you’ll round before reaching the coast of the same name (hence the race name). At the summit you’ll have a stunning view of the region, a perfect moment to pause and show off your movie knowledge 🎞️ to your friends, between the 2 Lovers of Pont-Neuf and the path of the Hobbit you’ll take, you know at least one of the two, right ?

If the Normandy countryside has won your heart (watch out for your partner’s jealousy though), Rouen and its architecture or Les Andelys will do the same! You’ll surely find something to satisfy your appetite at the same time. For that, we recommend tasting the Neufchâtel or the Pavé du Plessis cheeses from the region. 🧀
