It’s in the region of the Apulia, in the south of Italy 🇮🇹, more precisely in Bari, oriented toward the Adriatic Sea, Bari is where the Bari Med Marathon is grounded ⚓️. A port city and university town 🎓, it’s also known for being the home of its patron saint Nicolas, also called Saint Nicholas of Bari. It’s lovely weather that should welcome you at the end of febbraio. A beautiful sunny Sunday to discover the city under the banner of sport, health and well-being 🧘🏼‍♀️. The association La Fabrica Di Corsa has cooked up two routes made of city 🏙️ and seafront 🏝️. A 10km for the first edition of the Factory Run. And a half-marathon with the must-see spots of the city. We hope you’re well prepared because that doesn’t sound bad in Bari ! 🎶

The Bari residents are open; who will clock the best time? ⏱️

The start and finish 🏁 of the two races take place in the institutional and economic heart of the city on the Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. If you know the city (or not), the course is right next to the Piazza della Libertà (Woah, woah). You can come with your colleagues and form your team to face others by taking part in the first corporate-focused event 💼 in Italy, the Factory Run. The scenery will feature palm trees 🌴, buildings in a Mediterranean style, but also long rolling avenues for this 10km loop between the city and the sea front. You might hear some cheers 🗣️ like “ Forza Eric, you’re faster at leaving the office on Friday”, in French 🇫🇷 literally means: “ Go Eric, you’re quicker to leave the office on Friday evening” 😅. For the half-marathon, organizers have prepared a course that is both technical and fast ⚡️ through the streets, lanes and bridges of the city. A pleasant turn will take you toward San Giorgio throughout the south promenade to return to the lighthouse of the Bari point San Cataldo of Bari. Up top at 62m, it’s one of the world’s tallest lighthouses and in Italy so, well, logical… You’ll head north again to the starting point, between the Prefettura and the Teatro Piccinni with its facade reminiscent of a temple 🏛️. Even if you don’t speak Italian, we are sure you’ll love them. As a certain Bari White, put on your sneakers 👟 and Let the running play. 🎵

We did mention Nebrodi and not Nairobi hey, even if we know you dream of having the same strides as our Kenyan friends 🇰🇪

The hot peppery Il Piccante on the pizza 🍕

The Apulia region is full of culinary specialties and delicious local products. Take a pause and come taste the taralli. Often served as an appetizer, this small crunchy and savory biscuit is simply delicious. How to talk about Italian gastronomy without mentioning Pasta? Taking the form of small bowls, the orecchiette can be served with broccoli-rabe 🥦 before adding a drizzle of olive oil and garlic 🧄. If you have to order this regional specialty at a restaurant, you’ll ask for the orecchiette alla cime di rapa. Probably more recognizable to you, the famous burrata you know or the foccacia, to eat on its own or topped with many ingredients. 😋
