NN Night Run in Brno blends competition and the vibe of a city lit up, with a 10 km (Night Run) and a 5 km in the Avon Běh charity run, on routes passing through Lužánky Park and the historic center. After the effort, savor the Moravský vrabec and discover Brno by night around Jakubské náměstí and Náměstí Svobody.
Grab your headlamp and feel the unique energy of the night race! NN Night Run in Brno is part of one of the Czech Republic’s most popular night-running series. It’s an event that blends athletic competition with the incredible atmosphere of a city lit up after dark. The centerpiece of the program is usually a 10 km Night Run as well as a fast five-kilometer (5 km as part of the Avon Běh charity run). The course often winds through the charming avenues of the Lužánky historic park or around Brno’s historic center. Thousands of runners, with blinking headlamps and reflective elements, create an incredible river of light along the route.
Once you switch off the headlamp and recover your glow medallion at the finish, Brno – considered the student and caffeine-fueled heart of the Czech Republic – will offer you a fantastic vibe for a chilled weekend:
Špilberk Castle by night illumination: This mighty fortress dominates the city skyline. A stroll up to the castle hill after the race (or the next morning) rewards you with a fantastic view of brightly lit Brno 🏰.
Náměstí Svobody and the enigmatic clock: The main square of Brno stays lively late into the night. You’ll see the famous black, modernist, shell-shaped astronomical clock, with a glass marble that drops every day at 11:00 AM – a local attraction and a highly sought-after souvenir ⏱️.
The vibe at Jakubské náměstí : This is a legendary meetup spot in Brno’s center. After the race, it’s worth stopping by Saint James Church, where locals and visitors celebrate evenings with local beer or Moravian wine right on the square, in a standing-room-only format 🍻.
Moravian feast to recover: After the night effort, it’s time for something hearty. Try the traditional Moravský vrabec (roast pork served with cabbage and soft dumplings) or the comforting garlic soup (česnečka).
