Au départ du camping Mountain Creek, les coureurs gravissent l'imposant mont Bogong, descendent T-Spur jusqu'à Big River avant d'entamer la prochaine grande ascension vers Duane's Spur pour atteindre les hautes plaines de Bogong. Après avoir passé le principal poste de secours à Langford Gap, les coureurs continuent à travers les hautes plaines avant de descendre vers la rivière Cobungra et de gravir Swindler's Spur pour rejoindre l'arrivée au sommet du mont Hotham.
