Le Borneo TMBT Ultra Trail Marathon est la plus ancienne course d'ultra-trail de Malaisie, organisée à Sabah, sur l'île de Bornéo. Ce parcours technique exige endurance et courage, car il vous fera traverser des vallées fluviales accidentées, une jungle dense et des villages isolés au pied du mont Kinabalu. Attendez-vous à un mélange incessant de chemins de terre, de sentiers historiques utilisés pour le commerce des buffles, de sentiers de jungle envahis par la végétation, d'ascensions abruptes sur des crêtes et de fréquentes traversées de rivières. Le terrain est réputé pour ses montées abruptes, son sol boueux et glissant, ainsi que pour le défi supplémentaire que représentent les matins tropicaux chauds pouvant laisser place à de fortes pluies l'après-midi. Reconnue pour son extrême difficulté, cette course sert également de qualification officielle pour la prestigieuse Western States 100-Mile Endurance Run, avec une distance éprouvante de 109 km qui mettra à l'épreuve même les athlètes les plus aguerris.
