Experience one of the region's greatest trails in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, in the Sainte-Baume Regional Natural Park at Cuges-les-Pins. Four routes ranging from 15 to 45 km await you, with generous elevation gains (750 m, 1700 m, 2600 m D+) and views of the massif, from the Cuqois country to Pic de Bertagne and Grande Baume. A technical but accessible trail, blending rolling sections with wild passages.
Come and enjoy one of the region’s biggest trails in Provence-Alpes-C Côte d’Azur! It takes place near Cuges-les-Pins, in the Bouches-du-Rhône, at the heart of the Sainte-Baume Regional Natural Park. The event happens in October, it’ll likely be sunny and possibly a bit warm. It’s time to give your feet some balm with the Sainte Baume Trail! 🏃♂️
Four trail routes are offered by the event organizers, and whatever you choose, the scenery will wow you. On the program: “the Skybaume ” of 15 km, “ la Manon des sources” with 16.4 km and 750 m+, “ the Cúges loop ” of 29.5 km and 1700 m of positive elevationand finally “ the Great Baume” with 45 km of distance with a 2600m D+. It’s inside the Sainte Baume Regional Natural Park that you’ll run like you’re riding between Bouches-du-Rhône and Var. 🏇
For the 15 km, it’s a discovery of the Cuguese landscape you’ll get to experience, with a little nod to the Sainte Baume massif. The intermediate course, the Cùges Loopis very wild. It’s a fairly technical but still approachable event. There, too, you’ll have Cuges as a backdrop: a landscape with many facets. You’ll tread as much on rolling sections as on a few tougher passages before treating yourself to a stunning view of the Sainte Baume massif. And that’s not all: you’ll even reach the Pic de Bertagne as the grand finale. Finally, La Grande Baume is a grand adventure with steep climbs, vertiginous descents and breathtaking panoramas over the Alps and the Mediterranean. You’ll ascend the Grand Vallon and Riboux before a memorable pass through St Pons Park and the Grande Baume cave. A trail to savor! 😁
And speaking of pleasure, after you’ve treated your eyes, treat your stomach and enjoy a hearty plate of Provencal beef stew or a slice of anchovy toast! 😋
