Le Marathon international de Californie (CIM) est une course point à point de premier plan, avec un parcours rapide et en descente nette, qui va du barrage de Folsom au Capitole de l'État de Californie, à Sacramento. Organisé chaque année au début du mois de décembre par la Sacramento Running Association, le CIM est très apprécié des athlètes qui souhaitent se qualifier pour le marathon de Boston ou les sélections olympiques. Il est connu comme « la route la plus rapide vers Boston ». Le parcours présente un dénivelé de plus de 90 mètres, ce qui en fait l'un des marathons certifiés les plus rapides des États-Unis, avec un palmarès impressionnant de records personnels.
