Every year Brazil hosts the famous Rio de Janeiro Marathon (or Maratona do Rio in Portuguese) 🇧🇷. Considered the largest running festival in Latin America, it will take you through the city’s most iconic neighborhoods: Glória, Botafogo or Flamengo. As for the scenery, no disappointment in sight 😍. You’ll pass by famous historic landmarks in Rio, such as Candelária Church, the Art MuseumTomorrow Museum or the AquaRio Aquarium 🐠. Between the 15th and 20th kilometers, your gaze will fix on the Corcovado⛰, which, at 710 m above sea level, houses the statue of the Christ the Redeemer+. But the highlight of this race undoubtedly remains the kilometers along the city’s iconic beaches of Leblon, Ipanema, and Copacabana 🏝. For the final minutes of effort, it’s the Sugarloaf Mountain that comes into view, before crossing the finish line in the Flamengo district.
