In Ajaccio, a sporty and warm night awaits you for the City Impérial Trail, a 9.2 km loop around the city's iconic landmarks. Look forward to elevation gain and traverse the historic center, the port quays, the Saint-François and Trottel beaches, then Miot Square and Avenue Napoleon, before a spirited and festive atmosphere at the buffet.
A night run on the Isle of Beauty, what could be better? In December, Ajaccio and Corse-du-Sud welcome you for the City Imperial Trail, in a warm vibe with cool temperatures! Aiò, what are you waiting for to grab your bib? 😎
No one is left out for this City Imperial Trail, there’s only one distance for everyone: 9.2 km. It’s a loop all around the Place Charles de Gaulle in Ajaccio. Then, you’ll head to Rue Fesch via the Boulevard du roi Jérôme. Feel that sea breeze? That’s you arriving at the seaside 🌊. The Ajaccio port, it’s gorgeous! After a detour along the jetty Tino Rossi, a must-do rite before the passage of Petit Papa Noël, before speeding down the Rue Pascal Paoli. You’ll then run along the beaches of Saint-François and Trottel to access the Place Miot. Then explore the lanes and typical townhouses to finish your journey. The last miles are rolling, along the Avenue Beverini Vico and the Cours Napoléon.
But watch out, this isn’t a flat-out sprint! Yes, there will be elevation gain 😉! It climbs in the Boulevard Madame Mère toward the Casone. There will also be a rapid descent through the Grandval just before climbing back up the Rue Maréchal Ornano to reach the Avenue of Empress Eugenie.
After the race, which you can do in costume, a buffet awaits with Corsican specialties. You’re in for a treat! And then, you can enjoy the joys of Ajaccio, with its gulf, its port, its citadel, its old town 🛥️. Take time also to dive into France’s grand History by visiting the birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte on Saint-Charles Street. 👑
