Between town and forest, the CLAM TRAIL in Clamart offers an urban trail in the heart of the local forest, with 10 or 20 km and a bit of elevation gain. A popular course among Clamartois, it features shaded trails and views of the capital from the forest paths. Kids Trail of 1 km for children and after the effort, head to the region and its traditions such as the Chestnut Festival.
A city race that proudly proclaims it’s actually a forest trail? 🤔 Well, yes, it exists! 🤓 The CLAM TRAIL is the perfect compromise for all the urban trail runners! 🏙️ It starts in Clamart, Hauts-de-Seine, Île-de-France 📍. But just because you’ll be in the Parisian inner suburbs doesn’t mean you won’t end up with a big crown on your head at the finish line! 👑 Plus, you’ll have to battle mid-October chill 🥶. Don’t forget your rain jacket, or you risk ending soaking from head to toe and muddy! 🐽 Because yes, the CLAM TRAIL course runs right at the heart of the CLAM TRAIL in the heart of the Forest of ClamartGrande Forêt Domaniale de Meudon 🌲. With sneakers on, you’ll discover a place particularly beloved by Clamart residents ✨, but for how many kilometers? 📏
10 or 20 km, it’s double or nothing! ☝️ On forest trails of a historic woodland, you’ll sprint to dust (or mud depending on the weather)! 🌬️ A bit of elevation is on the agenda (yes, that’s what makes urban trail beautiful 📈), but you’ll quickly realize that the D+ climb is worth the effort for a panoramic view 🤩. The Forest of Clamart hosts historic monuments and quirky spots like Sainte-Marie Fountain ⛲, the Pierre aux Moine 🪨, a true megalithic relic, or the anemometerthat was used in 1880 during trials of the first airship "La France" 🛩️. But the highlight remains the famous "green carpet" 🌿, which offers an unbeatable view of the capital 🤯. The Eiffel Tower, the Sacré-Cœur... You’ll overlook the city’s bustle from shaded paths lined with century-old chestnut trees 🌳. Not a bad course, right? 👀 We’ve even heard whispers that some top French trail runners have come to tune up their season on this eventand found this course unconventional, technical and unique in the Île-de-France region 😏. And to recruit new athletes, the "Kids Trail" of 1 km will be the perfect moment for kids to show their talents! 💪
Once everyone is gathered under the finish line arch 🏁, what better way to end the weekend than in the region? November brings the Chestnut Festival! 🤎 Use it as a chance to fill your belly 😋. If you didn’t get enough forest during the race, you can explore the trails of the Meudon National Forest, right next to you, but much larger! 😯 Caution, its rugged terrain might just finish off your legs 😅.
