Corrida de Thiais

Finishing the year on a high note is so important! 😉 About ten kilometers southeast of Paris, in the Île-de-France region, the Île-de-France, the Corrida de Thiais is a winter highlight in the Val-de-Marne department. A rolling course will let you explore the city of Thiais from end to end, perfect to smash your best times and set a personal record! ⏱

In total, there are two races on the schedule: a 5 km and a 10 km. But that's not all! Families can also register their little runner for the kids’ race of 1.5 km to let them enjoy the competition. With such flat courses, everyone can come out for a light jog without overdoing it 😅. And good news for the little ones (and the grown-ups): the costumes are encouraged! 👏 Get ready, cowboy 🤠, it’s time to grab the big prize. But who will be lucky enough to see you? Where will you head? 🤔

Lucky you—the task is on us to give you the answers! So you’ll start from the Palais omnisports de Thiais. You’ll head west through the charming town and catch sight of the landscape mound of Thiais. There, you’ll turn north to head back toward your starting point, climbing toward the Parc des Lilas 🪻. You’ll stroll through the streets and along the gardens of the city’s residential villas 🏡. Your finish will be a sprint (if you have any energy left) on the track at the Stade Jack Baudequin under cheers and encouragement from Thiais residents 🪅. And to sweeten the moment, expect to taste the region’s best hot wine (or hot chocolate, depending on your mood) as soon as you cross the line 🏁.

Post-race, good news: there are changing rooms and showers. Once dry, you can explore a bit more of this small suburb just outside Paris, including the Academy of Arts 🎨the Gilardoni manufactory housethe Saint-Leu-Saint-Gilles Church from the 12th century or the Annonciade Monastery 🙏. The town of Thiais boasts more than 35 hectares of green spaces for a nature escape just steps from Paris. And why not stroll through the town while listening to Benabar, a local pride of Thiais? 🎵 Afterward, it’s time for the prize-giving to decide which finisher has the best costume 🧜‍♀️.
