Corrida do Carnaval

Want to see it all in every color? 🎨 Then welcome to the spectacular race Corrida Do Carnaval 🦹. It takes place in the small town of Lousada, not far from Porto where the event is organized 🕺. Participants should arrive with a smile, because this race promises a convivial moment under the gentle sun of the month of march! 🎊 And, crazy twist of fate, you must come in costume because yes, at Carnival, we dress up... 🤠 There is so much to learn every day with finishers! 🤓 Put on your sneakers and join this beautiful day where you can choose between two distances : 10 km and 6 km 👟. If you really want to take your time and enjoy the moment calmly, the distance of 6 km is offered in run and walk non-timed ⏱️.

We won’t keep you waiting any longer and we’ll reveal a bit more about the schedule! ☺️ All races will start from the Avenue Amílcar Neto, in the heart of Lousada, which is a charming little town less than 50 km from Porto 🏘️. The idea of this event is to come in costume, to have a festive moment festive, while running and having fun 😁, but if you want to come in competitive mode, you can do so too 🏆. However, there will be two races in one, because if you don’t cross the finish line first 🥇, you can finish first in the costume contest déguisement, the class 😎. Let’s get back to the serious stuff! ☝️ The race will take you through both the town’s narrow streets and its outskirts, where you’ll find a bit more greenery 🍃. Along the course, you’re also likely to meet plenty of supporters 📣, who will raise their voices to cheer you on and make you feel like a rock star, so bring the show 🎤. Whether it’s the 10 km and 6 km, or the walk of 6 km, the most important thing is to come with the desire to have a great time ❤️. You’ll still take on a challenge, but without the pressure of the clock! ⌛

After taking off your superhero 🦸‍♀️, fairy, or flamenco dancer costume, you can slip into tourist mode 🤳. There are plenty of things to do around Lousada, but the must-do is to visit Porto, also known as the "Capital of the North" 🥰. There, you can enjoy many activities, such as visiting the Dom Luís Bridge, which is Porto’s true symbol 🌉. After that, you can pass under the bridge to take a Douro cruise 🛳️, discovering Porto from a different angle 👀. Finally, for dessert — and not just any dessert — the Pastéis de Nata 🥧. It’s the must-have treat in Portugal! 😋 With that you’ll fuel up on sugar for your next race 🍬.
