If you’re here, you love the D+! Come test the Vertical Kilometer from Blayeul to Verdaches! 🏔️ Here, no detours, no flats, no mercy: 2.9 km of uphill all in one straight line, with one goal in mind: grab 1 000 meters of elevation as fast as possible 💨. Yes yes, you read that right 🤓. One thing’s for sure, it’s going to go straight up!

Your calves will scream betrayal from the first 300 mD+ in the wild. But you’ll see, when you reach the top, at the summit of Blayeul at 2 189 m, with the insane view over the massif des Trois-Évêchés... you’ll forget your pain 🤕. Well, not right away—first you’ll crash to the ground, put your lungs back in place... and then you’ll savor 🤤. The concept is brutal simple: a race against-the-clock ⏰, with a start every 30 seconds. The primary goal is to reach the summit, but if you’re competitive, you can target the record 🏆. The time to beat is 34'14" for men and 42'31" for women. Oh and if you’re tempted to show off and cut corners to shave two minutes, bad idea: every cheater gets at least 15 minutes of penalties. And if you’re crazy enough, you can double down the next day with the Trail of Digne-les-Bains, because if you’re going to stop feeling your legs, you might as well take on a two-day challenge, right? 💀

And after the race, what do we do? 🤔 The Alpes-de-Haute-Provence is full of activities: paragliding 🪂, climbing 🧗, horseback riding…🐎 You’ll be able to enjoy the breathtaking Provence 🪻. On top of that, you’re just a few minutes from Sisteron’s citadel, Sisteron and its 1 500 years of history 🏛️. You’ll be able to visit its chapel, its theater, its ramparts and its tunnels 🔦. For fueling after the race, we hope you’ve got a descent as steep as a vertical kilometer 📉, because you’ll be spoiled!
