Goat Trail

Nothing to do with GOT from Game of Thrones! No, no, here we’re talking about the Goat Trail. In other words, the Greatest Of All Time competition ("the best of all time", if you will!) 😏. A bit pretentious? Not at all, and you’ll understand why when we describe the program! So sit back, get comfy, and fuel up: you’ll need it to power through the two semi-night runs of 20 and 10 km that will take place on April 19 in Condrieu, in the department of the Rhône, in the region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. And if you’re already worried you won’t be able to participate because you’ve got kids to watch, worry not, because 6 races for children/juniors are organized to let everyone have fun and take part 🥳. Grab your headlamp, your running shoes, your son, your daughter, or your nephew, and come tread the vineyards that make the famous Condrieu wine! 😍🍇

With respectively 800 m and 300 m of elevation gain (🥵), the 25 km and 7 km trails promise to push you to the limit and leave you amazed. Starting from the old fortified village of Condrieu, the courses will take you through the Pilgrim Natural Park, but also the vineyards of the region and the Mont Monnet. From there you’ll get a panoramic, twilight view over the 700 km² of the nature reserve 🌄🌲. Fans of wide open spaces will be pleased to see that the site has been especially well-preserved from any pollution. The trails making up the routes are well-known to hikers and outdoor sports enthusiasts to be part of the GR7, GR42 and GR65. Could the Goat Trail be the first step toward an even bigger hike? 🤭🥾

In any case, if you’re more inspired by wine tourism, history or culture, you’ll be spoiled! 🫗 Already with the many activities planned for the occasion, including DJs and hosts. Excursions in the wine domains, but also tastings are available for those looking to unwind with a good glass 🍷. History enthusiasts will also be fascinated to see the remnants of the city, from its fortress and the Tour GaronRozay Castle... And not "rosé", stop seeing wine everywhere! 😂 You might even be able to taste a little, as well as many other regional products during the Wine and Rigotte Festival which takes place May 1 (2 days later, what a boon 🎉).
