In October, head to Viroflay, a charming commune in the Yvelines department in the Île-de-France region for an aquathlon of the devil 😈. To avoid your participation turning into a “Viro" drama, we’ll explain how the events unfold 🙌. The Aquathlon des Bertisettes de Viroflay offers 4 events based on age to allow anyone to dip a toe into the world of triathlon 👟.

If you’re training for a 3️⃣ triathlon, this is the perfect chance to practice the transitions and get used to kicking during the swim 🏊. The XS adult route takes you through 400 m of pool swimming and 3 km of running. You’ll dive into a 25 m pool 💧, so watch out for other participants, it can get hectic 💥. After a mega-fast transition (we believe in you 👊) you’ll do 2 laps in the forest that runs along the centre Aquatique des Bertisettes. It wakes up the legs 🦵, the cardio 🫀, and the competitive spirit 🏅. This same course is open from the minimes category (to scout future champions 🔎). Younger participants will have age-appropriate formats from as young as 6 years old, just to taste the joy of getting out of the water and immediately starting the run 😋. Whether you’re a competitor already hooked on razor-sharp transitions 📏 or simply curious, the aquathlon will charm you, we’re sure 💞.

If you miss your transition, there’s one more to nail: switch on the tourist mode 😍. There, you’ll have plenty of options 💁‍♀️. If you still have gas in the tank, you can improvise a short run to the Versailles Castle and its spectacular gardens (8 km round trip, that’s impressive) 🧑‍🌾. You can also head to the Bois de Boulogne for a more nature-filled stroll, or push on to the Maison des Jardies in Sèvres, listed on the UNESCO World Heritage. And if you really want to extend the experience, Paris is right next door, with its monuments, its museums and that unique Piaf-sung vibe: “ Paris, you are my joy, Paris…” 🗼.
