But if you’re here, it’s to take part in the Course de la Citadelle de Lille ! 🤗 So, don’t wait to lace up 👟 and head toward the Capitale des Flandres, in the region of the Hauts-de-France 📍. You’ll meet at the end June, for a perfect-weather 🌤️ and to avoid the North’s famous showers 🌧️.

Recognized as a friendly and welcoming event, don’t be afraid to start, because there isn’t any long distance on the horizon! 🥳 Additionally, the courses are accessible and free for people with disabilities 🦽. Several road races will be offered: the "2 025 m City of Lille" (2.025 km) for a fast challenge 🚀, the "Family Hike" of 5 km for a friendly stroll 🌳, the "5 km Métropole Européenne de Lille" for sprinters or beginners 🏎️, or the "10 km Harmonie Mutuelle" for long-distance lovers 😎. A "Kid's Run" of 650 m will also be offered for the youngest and a kids' zone will be set up at the start village! 🎈 Inflateable structure, duck fishing 🦆, or face painting stand... 💄 There will be plenty to amuse the whole crowd! 🤪 For those more motivated to run as a team in teamsthe "Company Challenge" will be perfect for you and your colleagues 😉. You will traverse the numerous paths around the Citadel, letting you enjoy a break in a natural and very calm setting! 😌 You’ll pass through the treasures of the Citadel, the green lung of Lille 🍃. You’ll have understood by now, it’s the perfect race to do with family or friends 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦. You won’t have any excuses to not head to the starting line! 😝

Yes indeed, because we’re not running out of arguments! 🤓 The organizers have thought of everything! A grand village will be set up for the occasion, where you’ll find everything you might need before or after the race: several food stalls, including a fry shop 🍟 and a waffle seller 🧇 (yes, we’re in the North 🤣) but also numerous activities (DJ 💽, La Compagnie du Tire Laine, quizzes, a tombola with many prizes 🎁, a wall of the finishers). The event also supports a charitable cause with a village featuring associations such as Transhépate, the Papillons Blancs and the Bureaux du Cœur 💓. And as if that wasn’t enough, this race embraces a sustainable approach throughout all organization processes ♻️ : water stations, recycling sorting, sports reuse boxes, presence of the Institute of Sustainable Sport… The Course de la Citadelle really has it all! 👑

After crossing the finish line 🏁, you can extend your stay, as a few surrounding activities are must-dos in the area! 🥰 It seems obvious since you’ll have run right next to the majestic Citadelle 🏰, a masterpiece by Vauban surrounded by a vast park to unwind after your challenge 💆‍♂️. Then you’ll want to explore Lille to get to know the Vieux-Lillestreets and its picturesque shops, visit the Grand Place and discover the beauty of La Vieille Bourse 💰. If you’re with family, no worries! 😁 The Natural History Museum, just minutes from downtown 🏙️, will captivate both young and old with its natural history collections 🪨, including zoology 🦒 and geology . And to finish your escape, you can enjoy the sea spray of the Opal Coast 🌊, with its soft sandy beaches and charming fishing villages… 🎣 End with a cone of fries in hand (you’ve earned it) ! 🤤
