Head to Bayonne for 10 festive kilometers at the end of the year, through the city center and the Grand and Petit Bayonne neighborhoods. Mid-race refreshment is at the bar counter of the Trinquet, surrounded by the Nive and Adour rivers and punctuated by a punch upon arrival. Nearly 3,000 participants, possibility of a costume race, prize ceremony and a cheque to the partner association in a friendly and gourmet atmosphere.
What could be more Bayonne than a fuel stop at a bar 🙈 ? That’s exactly what you’ll find at the halfway point, when you’ll head to the bar counter at Trinquet, one of the city’s landmark spots. We’ve got your attention, right 🤣 ? The New Year’s Run, organized thus in Bayonne, in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, every December end, is eagerly awaited each year by nearly 3000 participants. The course itself is simple: 10km to celebrate the coming year. 🎉
The course is ideal for visiting the city on foot, with passages through the city center via the neighborhoods of Grand and Petit Bayonne, Lauga, Saint-Esprit and Saint-Léon. The Nive and the Adour will be your travel companions, especially for one of the anticipated moments which is of course the halfway fuel stop 🤗. The moment to rest an elbow and enjoy a drink of water… or something else! 🍻
Meet at the unmissable end-of-race moment, the “ tiap post-race ” where a punch is offered to all runners. It’s also the eagerly awaited moment for the awards and the check to the event’s partner organization. ✔️
This race, where good humor is the rule, can be run in costume. And above all, keep your costume on to explore the city and sample the incomparable Bayonne ham 🍖 and the Basque cakes.
So get into Paquito mode and come stick with the Basques! 🏃
