Get ready to see life in pink 💕, and no, it’s not because you overdid the Patxaran the night before at Petit Bayonne! 🍷

Welcome to Odysséa Bayonne, the event where your cardio finally serves a purpose beyond catching the bus 🚌. See you in Bayonne (amazingly right? 😜) in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques 🗓️ for a wave of solidarity for three organizations: the Ligue contre le Cancer des Pyrénées Atlantiques, the association Mieux Vivre Mon Cancer and the association Les Battements d'Elles. Plus, we’re at the mid-April, the blessed period when Basque sun starts peeking out without turning you into a charcoal octopus on the hot pavement ☀️.

The menu is more enticing than a plate of Bayonne ham 🍽️ : a 10 km time-trial version for those with legs that won’t stop, and a 5 km (race or walk) non-timed for those who mainly want to chat 🗣️. And the cherry on the Garonne theAdour ? 😜 You’ll be able to do the race distance, since there’s a connected section. 5 km or 10 km no matter where you are. If that isn’t beautiful! 😍 The route on the Pays Basque is flat as a pepper omelette 🌶️. We run along the Nive, we cross the city walls in the heart of downtown, it’s so beautiful you could almost forget you’re about to die on the lungs 🫁. But it’s for a good cause! On the culture side, we’re halfway between the set of Camping and the Rois de la Glisse but sport version and without the flip-flops of Patrick Chirac and the penguins. It’s chic, it’s pink, and it’s especially ultra-dynamic 🚀.

After a while, your body might send a message like “do we stop here?” 📩. But around you, people cheer, clap, and smile 👏. And you keep going, because you know why you’re there 🙏. Because you see all these people moving forward with you 🏃. And because deep down, even if your legs don’t agree, your head has already decided to go all the way 💪. Odysséa, that’s what it is: a mix of effort, emotion and solidarity that pushes you a little further than planned ❤️‍🩹. You know why you’re doing it, and especially for whom you’re doing it 🎀. Even the little wolves will be able to lace up sneakers 👟 for a 1 km kids’ race called "I Run for Mom". Everyone is invited!

And once you cross the finish line 🏁, it would be a shame to rush straight to the shower without enjoying the corner. Because Bayonne is also a great excuse to extend the weekend 😏. You can wander through the historic center, breathe the sea air along the Atlantic coast 🌊. On the food front, don’t pretend: here, we eat well. Very well indeed 😮‍💨. Between a good Bayonne ham, a few pintxos to share (or not), and the iconic basque cake to “recover” 🍰, you’ll clearly have plenty to bounce back from your efforts. And if someone asks why you’re eating so much, you can answer very seriously: “it’s for recovery” 😄.
