Semi-Marathon des Thermes de Bourbonne-les-Bains

Need a challenge, but also some relaxation? 🧘 Then welcome to Bourbonne-les-Bains, this little town in the department of the Haute-Marne is waiting for you 🥰. It’s true that it isn’t exactly used to hosting runners 🏃‍♀️, but rather spa-goers 🧖‍♂️. Bourbonne-les-Bains is one of the largest thermal spa towns in France; in fact, it’s the second-largest thermal spa in the Grand Est 🛁. It welcomes nearly 6,000 spa-goers each year, ready to enjoy the healing powers of the thermal waters, especially for joints and respiratory passages 🫁. That’s good news for runners’ joints. Between massages and hydrojet baths, the town unveils a brand-new program: the Semi-Marathon des Thermes de Bourbonne-Les-Bains 🤠. Here, the motto after the effort is deserved comfort—never more true! 🙆‍♀️ Everything you need to push yourself and then rest is within reach 🥵. Speaking of well-being, you’ll also be running for others 🙏. In fact, the event is charitable and supports the Haute-Marne Handisport Committee 🧑‍🦽. A portion of the race bib proceeds will be donated 🫶. Running for this cause should give you a little extra soul, right? 💪

This is the third time that Bourbonne-les-Bains, in collaboration with the tourism agency of Haute-Marne and the HMRun52 running club organizes its semi-marathon 🤗. This famous distance of 21,097 km is attracting more and more runners, amateur and seasoned 👟. The little peculiarity here is that the race takes the form of three loops of about 10 km, 6 km and 5 km ➰. Thanks to this format, participants can choose to run the race in relay 👯‍♂️, in groups of two or three people. It’s even possible to do it in a squad 👥, meaning the first runner starts for the 21 km, then the second joins at the second loop, and finally the last person finishes the journey with them for the third loop 😉. There’s also a nod to juniors with three courses: 400 m, 1 km, 2 km. A treat for the whole family! And to guide their strides, runners can count on one of the most well-known voices in running, that of Patrick Montel! 🎙️ He will be part of this great celebration and will meet the participants, listening to the most beautiful sport stories 📜. Important note: this is the only half-marathon in Haute-Marne!

This event and this town have many strengths 👀, but we won’t reveal all of them to you... 😋 Well, yes, one we will share! 😎 Along your route, you’ll meet some unusual companions thanks to the Bannie Animal Park 🐾. It’s at the heart of the course and shelters species such as deer, sika, does... 🦌 Not your typical running buddies! 😄

You’ll be able to breathe fully again! 🍃 Once you’ve regained the necessary strength 🧨, you can take a quick stroll to Langres 🚶‍➡️. It’s a town known for its ramparts, witnesses to its history 🏰. Visitors can stroll along them and discover the architecture and the lush landscapes of the commune 🌿.
