But in 1857, a mysterious illness struck the young women of the village: convulsions, hallucinations and scenes of hysteria—people spoke of women “possessed by the devil” 😮. The doctors of the time couldn’t identify the cause, but one hypothesis points to the famously cursed bread of the era (we know, it’s pretty wild 🥖). Rest assured—the only convulsions you’ll experience will be those of your hips during the MDS Morzine Avoriaz🦵, in the heart of Haute-Savoie 🤩. The goal is as simple as it is addictive: you have 3, 6, 9, 12 or 24 hours to string together as many loops as possible on a course of 3 to 5 km📍. If you’re in good shape, you’ll recognize the backyard concept 🔄—except here you don’t have to start anew every hour 🕘. To experience it fully, you have two options: the bivouac offer with two nights in an MDS tent, or the self-supported option if you prefer to bring your own tent or book a stay 🏠. Whether you choose to sleep under the stars or keep warm after your exploits, the vibe remains festive, alpine and resolutely chill 🧘. You run, you walk, you push yourself to the limit, you carry others, you stop… and you go again until exhaustion 🥱.

Once your 42nd loop is complete (or your 2nd—it’s up to you 😌) and your calves crave a pause, the adventure continues 💥. Since you’re here, make the most of Avoriaz! It’s the only resort accessible by foot: you ride a gondola up, then 0 cars... only horse-drawn carriages like the good old days 🐎. Take the chance to admire the famous organic architecture of this village, designed to blend perfectly with the landscape 🪵.
