In October, we head to the stunning region Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur for a pink-marked date on the calendar 📆. It’s in the heart of La Motte, a charming village in the Var, where a race like no other is taking shape: The Run of the Ladies 🎀. The vibe here is 100% female, warm and supportive, but gentlemen, don’t panic ❌. You’re welcome at the starting line with one condition: come dressed as a woman or proudly wear a feminine accessory 🙋‍♀️. A lovely opportunity to break the mold of the traditional peloton within the framework of Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 🎀

The program? A loop of 7 km, also walkable, meandering between sun-kissed vines and lush forests 🍇. The route sits right beside the magnificent Château des Demoiselles 🏰. This exceptional estate spans 300 hectares, including 72 hectares of vineyards in A.O.P. Côtes de Provence, tucked away in the hinterland, in the heart of the Valley of the Esclans 🍷. We’re far from the historic vibe of the cinematic saga The Gendarme of Saint-Tropez, even if the local gendarmerie will probably applaud your effort 😂. This race can also be run in a team of 5 women 👊. While you push yourself on this accessible distance, the little ones can have a blast on the finish straight thanks to the children & juniors courses planned on the program 👧. Also, the event is entirely focused on supporting cancer care in cancer 💛. For every registration, a portion of funds is directly donated to the oncology department of the Fréjus Saint-Raphaël Intercommunal Hospital 🏥. Concretely, it’s 4 € per bib that will give strength and support to patients 💌.

After crossing the finish line, sharing your doubts about pacing and getting your dose of endorphins, there’s no rush to head home! 🙅‍♀️ The Provence is calling and there are plenty of ways to extend this unforgettable experience 😍. If you want to play movie star, the legendary village of Saint-Tropez is under an hour away by car (or by green boats if you’re nautical ⚓️). You can also stroll the streets of Sainte-Maxime, Saint-Raphaël, Port-Grimaud or Draguignan 🔎. Gourmands will also be delighted by the authenticity of the Provence markets🪻. Their colorful stalls brim with local goodies for a perfect post-race carb recharge 🤤. Finally, if you’re looking to buy some fine wine, we highly recommend touring the Provençal cellars 🤌.
