Trail des Bulles

Indre-et-Loire often rhymes with Loire Valley châteaux, but there is something else to see, and especially to drink! But we'll still wait for the evening, and with moderation, of course... evening.

Lovers of trail running and fine wine, come discover these historic vineyards where the magic happens during a race in nature in October. In the Centre-Val de Loire region, the Trail des Bulles will be the chance to cruise through the vines and woods of Vouvray and Rochecorbon, just after harvest season. Good news, you won’t really have time to pick the grapes! 🍇

The Trail des Bulles offers six and original distances. As a kickoff to the "bal" on Saturday, kick off on the "Moncontour by Night8 km and 15 km in semi-nocturne or on a 10 km. On Sunday, three trails await: the Cuvée de la belle Angerie of 8 km (solo or in duo), the Cuvée des Portes Vertes of 15 km and finally the Tête de Cuvée of 21 km.

You’ll start your epic in front of the stunning Château de Moncontour which houses one of the oldest vineyards in the Loire Valley with a magnificent view over this vast river and its surroundings 🏰. Your route will continue on the bucolic trails through the fields, the vines, the forests and the woods with steady climbs and descents 🌲. Then you’ll wind through the narrow, steep streets of Vouvray and Rochecorbon. These towns were partly built on treacherous rocky slopes, giving their AOC-labeled wines a distinctive flavor. In addition to the vines and cellars, you’ll also see numerous troglodyte houses carved into the cliff. You’ll cross the finish to the cheers of locals who show up in large numbers to cheer you on!

After the race, you must absolutely savor these exceptional wines—dry, off-dry, or sweet—to enjoy with moderation. And to accompany that, why not try some pork rillons as well as a nougat from Tours for dessert, you’ll be pleasantly surprised. 🥰
