In the heart of Mandelieu-la-Napoule, on the French Riviera, the Balcons d’Azur trail offers an XXL format with 25 km (1000 mD+) , 47 km (2200 mD+) or 79 km (3500 mD+) in April. A semi-autonomous race on marked trails in the Esterel, with stunning views over the Cannes Bay and the Lerins Islands. After the effort, the village awaits with a local tasting to reward your muscles and spirit.

A long run to take in the colors of the spring, especially under the sun of the French Riviera, here’s what the Trail des Balcons d’Azur, in the heart of the Alpes-Maritimes department, more precisely in Mandelieu-la-Napoule. Attention: XXL race format! For this event held in April, the organizers are going all out: the shortest race is 25 km with a positive elevation gain of 1000 mD+; the intermediate version is long at 47 km with 2200 mD+ and finally the lion’s share goes… 79 km with 3500 mD+! We warned you, the Trail Balcons d'Azur is serious. 😨
This trail is a self-sufficient race over marked terrains in nature. On the menu: the best spots of the Estérel Regional Park, a low-mountain massif spanning over 13 000 hectares composed of volcanic rocks. The place is exceptional with its ochre and red reflections. You’ll enjoy an incredible panorama over the Cannes Bay just a stone’s throw away, the Alps, and the Lérins Islands. Amidst the pines, rosemary and heathers, you’ll run on tracks, paths, and trails along the coast with the Mediterranean Sea as a accomplice. The landscape is so spectacular that it will make you forget the distance and the climbs, well, almost ... 😬
After the race, you can enjoy the town of Mandelieu-la-Napoule as well as Cannes and its no less famous "La Croisette, located just below. After a nice stroll, take time to savor a good daube with some ratatouille after toasts of tapenade for starters. For dessert, a Menton lemon tart will instantly erase the soreness! After such an effort, you’ll have earned this tasty reward. 😋
