Le Défi des Couleurs Simard, qui se déroule au Mont-Sainte-Anne, accueille les Championnats canadiens de course en montagne, ce qui témoigne de son importance. Événement phare du calendrier québécois depuis plus d'une décennie, il est devenu l'un des plus importants du pays, attirant près de 3 500 coureurs lors de la dernière édition. Organisé chaque année pendant le long week-end de l'Action de grâce, il offre un décor automnal saisissant et un parcours conçu pour mettre au défi les athlètes de tous niveaux. Les nouveaux parcours du championnat se distinguent par leurs montées soutenues – jusqu'à 800 m en une seule ascension – associées à des sentiers vallonnés et non techniques qui restent accessibles aux athlètes de toutes les disciplines d'endurance. Partant au pied des chutes Jean-Larose, les courses combinent une course en montagne escarpée et une ambiance festive.
