La Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race (DMRR) est la plus grande course internationale certifiée AIMS du pays. Elle attire des milliers de coureurs des Maldives et d'ailleurs. Organisée chaque année à Hulhumalé, elle propose plusieurs formats de course, dont un semi-marathon, un 10 km, un 5 km individuel et une nouvelle épreuve par équipe de 5 km (catégorie « bureaux/complexes hôteliers »). La double participation est aussi autorisée, ce qui permet aux coureurs de combiner le semi-marathon ou le 10 km avec le 5 km. La course commence et se termine au Central Park, et suit un parcours côtier à travers les espaces urbains aménagés et les promenades en bord de mer de Hulhumalé. Depuis 2007, la DMRR est devenue un mouvement national qui promeut la forme physique, la communauté et l'impact social. Chaque année, les bénéfices de la course sont reversés à des ONG locales qui bossent dans la protection de l'enfance, renforçant ainsi le thème de l'événement : « Chaque pas compte ».
