Castle Race Series Chantilly

By running so much, you’ve become a true racehorse! So it makes sense you’ll be part of the Marathon, Half and 10K of the Castle Run Series of Chantilly. Late August, in the enchanting setting of the château, the town of Oise in Hauts-de-France lets you join a huge gathering of athletes as a well-known triathlon event takes place there, along with swimming races. 🏊‍♂️

There isn’t only the 42.195 km in life; there’s room for smaller appetites too. On the program as well: a 10K and a Half Marathon. For the marathon course, it’s two laps around the château grounds. You’ll wander through the countryside and even cross a lake, not to mention the surrounding villages. The setting is paradise, with tracks on track passages on track as well as woodland trails. There’s everything you need to feel transported even if you’re just a stone’s throw from Paris, since the estate covers 7800 hectares. Chantilly is a princely domain founded in the Middle Ages

Do these places ring a bell? You’re likely a big fan of James Bond! This is where Christopher Walken, aka Zorin was played in “Licence to Kill” in 1985. Also know that Pink Floyd performed twice in 1994 (not sure you’ll see pink flamingos though, sorry) and that Ronaldo (the Brazilian) celebrated his engagement in 2005. You never know, it might come in handy to win a Camembert at the Trivial Pursuit.

After the race, you can take the time to visit the Condé Museum (nothing to do with the police officers) which houses works by Botticelli, Poussin, Raphael or Delacroix. It’s the largest collection of pre-1850 paintings after the Louvre.

All that has made you hungry? With your shiny finisher medal around your neck, you’ll have the chance to share a post-race moments of conviviality. There will surely be Cream Chantilly which, as the name suggests, originated in this corner.
