Course des Aviateurs des Bieszczady – Été

Do you want to feel what it’s like to run where eagles circle under the sky and where nature always dictates its own rules? The Aviators’ Race of the Bieszczady – Summer in Ustjanowa Górna is the summer, trail version of the legendary winter ski event, with an incredible aviation atmosphere! The course leads you along the slopes of the Żuków Massif – where, between the wars, the famous largest glider pilot school in Europe operated. Challenging mountain trails, forest tracks, and breathtaking panoramas await runners. You can choose among superb distances (including the classic 10 km, demanding) as well as Nordic Walking 🏅.

Ustjanowa Górna sits right beside Ustrzyki Dolne – the winter and summer capital of the Bieszczady. From there, you reach magical Lesko in just 20 minutes, Sanok in 45 minutes, and the shores of the Solina Lake in less than a quarter of an hour 🚗. Once you proudly cross the finish line with a medal around your neck, this charming corner of Poland will offer you top-notch rest:

Family gliding traditions : Since this is the Aviators’ Race, you must absolutely visit the Bezmiechowa gliding field ✈️. Known as the “holy mountain of gliding,” it offers one of the most beautiful panoramas in all of the Bieszczady. Watching those silent machines take off from there is an amazing experience for kids and adults alike.

Romantic cruise for two : Take your partner to the Solina Lake 🌊. A stroll along the impressive dam or an exclusive cable car ride above the lake are ideal, effortless ways to spend the afternoon and soothe tired legs.

Mountain calories : After the climb in the Bieszczady, your body will crave solid fuel 🤔! Stop by a chyža or a regional inn and order hreczanyki (buckwheat crepes) with cream and mushrooms, or the fuczki – Bieszczady cabbage-filled pancakes.
