In February, explore the Yawata district in Kyoto during the Kyoto Yawata Eco Marathon. Choose the half marathon, the 10 km timed race, or the 5 km parent-child run, starting at 11:00 along the Ara River, on a flat and fast bike path suitable for all levels. This eco-friendly event supports charitable causes like Second Harvest Japan and brings together up to 200 participants in a sporty and friendly atmosphere.
Have you always dreamed of running in the land of the rising sun? 🌅 In February, pack your bags 🧳, you’re invited to the Japan 🇯🇵, in the Kyoto Prefecture in the district of Yawata for the Kyoto Eco Marathon 🏃♀️.
If you’re more of a solo runner 🧍♂️, join the half marathon or the 10 km timed race, and if you prefer family running 🧑🧑🧒🧒, a 5 km parent-and-child run will be held. The start time is 11:00 AM sharp 🕚, in the heart of Kyoto, along the Ara River 🌊. You’ll run along its banks on the bike path 🚴♂️. The course is flat, easy, and fast ⚡️, so it’s open to both novice runners and seasoned runners looking to beat their personal best 💪. The event cap is 200 participants, so you won’t have to elbow your way at the start 😝.
With several other sporting events organized, especially in the prefectures of Saitama, Osaka, Hiroshima, Kyoto and Kumamoto (but mainly in Tokyo 🌸) the Ecomarathon takes pride in being an organization that cares about the environment 🌳 and is committed to various causes 🎗️. This year, you can make a donation to the international refugee aid organization
Yawata (Yawata) carries a complex history, yet it has managed to preserve its heritage and houses important Shinto shrines 🧧. It is a highly touristic destination that blends traditional culture with modern life 🎐. If you choose to extend your stay, you’ll need to make a detour to one of the region’s best-preserved shrines: Iwashimizu Hachimangu ⛩️. Want to get a view from above? ⬆️ Then grab your ticket and hop on the Iwashimizu Hachimangu Sando Cable ! 🚃 This ropeway will lift you above the city of Kyoto, for a unique panorama without tiring your legs 😅.
