After 5 years spent in the Madrid capital, the brand EcoTrail lands in the East of the country, on the Mediterranean coast of the Iberian Peninsula, for the EcoTrail of Valencia. The third largest Spanish city 🇪🇸 boasts a breathtaking architectural heritage, mixing medieval style ⚔️ and futuristic 🤖. The semi-arid Mediterranean climate semi-arid will treat you to sunny skies ☀️ this late October, so you can shed that chainmail. Beware that mustard may sting your nose 😤 when the time comes to choose between the 3 distances) offered. In Valencia, the trail has entered a new dimension. 3 distances, 3 starting points for the 20 km, 43 km, or 80 km and a single finish line, in the old riverbed of the Turia Riverbed. But beware not to nod off 😴, because after the race, the city may offer you some beautiful discoveries 🌮.

All roads lead to Valencia...

Whether you start from La Vallesa for the 20 km, from Riba-roja for the 43 km or from Pedralba for the 80 km... all of these routes will lead you to the same finish line, in the city center of Valencia. But before that, allow me to share all the wonderful things you’ll see. You’ll be impressed by the nature 🍃, the roads and the paths that make up about 90% of these courses. Valencìa sits in a climate zone characterized by the wooded Mediterranean and the maquis. The region will offer you a great biodiversity, especially in the Turia Nature Park which houses the La Vallesa Forest 🌲. This protected natural area, located in the municipality of Paterna, is an ideal playground for hikers of all kinds. Pines and groves will thread you along. Walking if you’re tired 😮‍💨, running if you still have energy 💪🏼. Another marvel, in the Sant Pau district, is the Valencia Bioparc. The Valencia Bioparc, founded in 2008, the same year as EcoTrailzoological park located next to the Turia Gardens 🌸. Not sure you’ll be able to pick out more than 800 animals and 116 species... However, if your legs give out at the end of the race, take a moment to observe elephants 🐘, giraffes 🦒, zebras 🦓 or rhinoceroses 🦏 that roam there. You might even hop on the back of one of these savanna stars 🦁 to continue your journey guided by the old Turia Riverbed. It will take you to the Torres de Serranosa true landmark of the old Valencia. Also used for formal welcomes of ambassadors and kings 👑, this gate is considered the main entrance of the city. But you’re right, it’s better to have the status of Finisher than of a king. And that’s handy, you’ll have just over a kilometer left to reach the Alameda Bridge or Pont Alameda and don this supreme title.

"Paella, paella morena 🎶"

You won’t find anything more typical than enjoying a good paella 🥘 in Spain 🇪🇸. Come savor it in Valencia, facing the sea (...I should have grown up), on the Malvarrosa Beach. Apologies for the musical references that may not be yours… Flamenco should speak to you a little more. You can head to the Cafe Del Duende to see how it’s danced, Olé 💃🏻! You can easily discover the city on foot. Stroll to the Plaza de la Reina with the cathedral and its Miguelete Tower. In the center, you’ll also find the Silk Exchange or the modernist Central Market.
