Des athlètes venus de tous les États-Unis se réunissent pour le semi-marathon et le 4 miles End of the Road sur une section désaffectée de l'autoroute Pennsylvania Turnpike, qui comprend deux tunnels historiques. Les participants courent une partie de la course dans ces tunnels, ce qui nécessite le port d'une lampe frontale ou d'une lampe de poche.
