An eco-friendly sporting experience 🍃, designed for trail lovers and fans of local products, that’s how you could describe this little race in the heart of central France 🇫🇷. Nestled in the beautiful region of Puy-de-Dôme, the small village of Châteldon 🏰 promises wonderful discoveries between woodlands and forest trails. Whether you prefer a short distance or longer efforts, you’ll surely find your happiness among the distances offered. Everything has been thought out by the organizers to let you enjoy the local scenery to the fullest 🌳. Held in mid-November, the Espri’Trail des Badins also gives you a chance to see the region in striking red and orange hues 🍁.

On the running side, there are three distances, making the trail accessible to all levels 👟. A first 10 km, with a start planned at 10:30 AM, suitable for beginners (or late risers ⏰). A beautiful initiation route, featuring wide, well-marked trails to ease newcomers into their first race. The second route, more challenging, is made up of 14 km and 660 mD+ ⛰️. It’s the perfect mix of effort and enjoyment. Finally, the last course is for distance lovers (and lovers of a challenge 😈). 22 km for a total of over 1 000 mD+, pure delight!

But the real bonus of this trail, is its authenticity. Friendliness, local focus, and good vibes are the organizers’ watchwords 📣. You’ll find dedicated volunteers, a family-like atmosphere, and a special emphasis on the human values of the trail 🤝. On the refueling side, the products are also organic and locally sourced 🥔 ! In Châteldon, we highlight the territory both visually and on the plate 🍽️. If you want to meet passionate athletes and devoted organizers, you’re in the right place!

And once you’ve finished running and huffing through the trails, Châteldonnais, no stress 😎! While it’s renowned for its natural surroundings, you’ll also find notable architecture 🏛️. Labeled “ Petites Cités de Caractère” for many years, you can easily let yourself be carried away by the old town’s charm and discover its grand stone façades 🧱, its half-timbered houses, its castle or its iconic big bell tower, a city’s emblem. To end the weekend smoothly, you can also visit the nearby town of Vichy to relax and discover its numerous thermal springs ⛲️. The perfect mix of relaxation and “historic sightseeing” 😉.
