In February, stow away your ski poles and your best race suit, because you’re about to fly to Italy 🏎️. The Ferrara Marathon takes place every year in the Emilia-Romagna region and offers flat and sunny routes 🌅. Whether you’re chasing records or eyeing stunning landscapes, this race has something for you 🏅. Here, history meets nature and every step will take you on a journey through time 👟.
In Ferrara, 3 distances will be offered: the iconic Ferrara Marathon of 42.195 km, the Ferrara Half Marathon of 21.0975 km and the Ferrara City Run of 10 km. You can therefore choose among the most popular distances of all time 🤩. Additionally, the course goes 100% on pavement 🛣️; no chance of running on wild terrain or in a trail. Here, we’re after speed 💨. What’s certain is you’ll crave pizza and some Parmesanlocal to keep you motivated 😝. But let’s focus on the race! You’ll weave through cobbled streets and city walls of the small Italian town italian 🇮🇹. Between the Castello Estense, the Duomo, or the Palazzo Municipale of Ferrara, you’ll see all colors and shapes 👨🎨.
If you really want to discover what the Dolce Vita 🛵, means beyond the famous film by Federico Fellini (which won the Palme d’Or), simply stroll at the locals’ pace. The town, less than an hour from the shore, lets you combine swimming and hiking on the same trip 💪. The Adriatic Sea and its deep blue will hypnotize you and won’t let you leave without a quick splash to test the water 😎. Once you cross the finish line, you can continue exploring the charming streets of Ferrara, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage 😍. If you’d rather relax and massage your legs, you can also go enjoy a picnic in the splendid Parco Massari. A touch of greenery in the city center. And if your stomach wants to travel too: savor local delights in one of the region’s traditional restaurants. Parmesan, fresh pasta and savor modenese will melt your heart 💓.
