Frappadingue d'Arcachon

We hope you’re someone who isn’t afraid to get dirty 🤪 because this race is going to bring the heat 💥.

In April, you’re invited to the Frappadingue in the Arcachon, in the department of the Gironde 📍. Here, it’s not about competition 🏃 or timing ⏱️; this race is for everyone who just wants to have fun 🤠. Before you sign up, make sure you’ve got old clothes 🩳, because this challenge will smear you from head to toe 🐷. You’ve probably guessed it—the Frappadingue is an extraordinary obstacle course along the Arcachon basin.

On the agenda, two courses will push you to your limits 😈. The “S” format from 5 to 6 km features 15 obstacles, all crazier than the last 🤪. For the strongest, the “L"10 to 12 km is made up of 40 obstacles, which will test your abilities 😏. Between ladder climbs, monkey bridges, rope nets, tunnels, mud basins and other snares, your progress will be seriously slowed ❌. The little daredevils 👶 also get to splash around in the mud, a “Frappajeune” race is reserved for them to safely get started on the obstacle course ✅. You know the saying ‘unity makes strength’? 💪 Well, you’ll need to apply it! If you’re taking part in this race, now isn’t the time to go solo 👎: you’ll have to help your teammates get over the obstacles 🫂. In other words, if you haven’t got it, you’ll have to push their butts 😅 and pull them out of the water 💦. Because yes, during the course, you’ll have to swim through a natural 25 m basin (that’s how Léon Marchand started 🥇). As if the concept wasn’t funny enough, participation is costumed! 🥸 If you’re stuck for ideas, last edition featured princesses 👸, giant babies 🍼, Hawaiians 🌺 or fairies 🧚 (big and buff). This challenge aims to bring participants together and give them a moment of conviviality, regardless of their level, so don’t be afraid to dive in! 😁

Once you finish your race, a nice cold beer (to be enjoyed in moderation) is on us! 🍺 You can then relax at the finish village and enjoy the sunbeds 😎, Arcachon’s sunshine ☀️, refuelling stations and music 🎶. You can even capture your experience with the "PhotoWall" reserved for champions 📸. We don’t know about you, but we’re already feeling summer coming with this challenge 🌞.

Hop hop hop! ✋ You’re not about to just do a simple round-trip to the Southwest? There’s a ton to see there 😱. If you still have energy in your legs 🦵, head to the top of Europe’s tallest dune: the Dune of Pilat and its breathtaking view of the basin 😍. For a quick gastronomic pause gastronomy 🍴, head to the village of Gujan-Mestras to sample local oysters 🦪 at the huts of the oyster farmers. If you’ve already explored Arcachon, take a boat 🛥️ toward the Cap Ferret, known for its iconic stilts houses.
