Foulées d’Orgerus

Orghhh, I’ve rumarché in a puddle… 😣 Ahhh, we hope this won’t happen to you anytime soon. On the other hand, what we wish for you is good to step on the soil of Orgerus 😊. In the race that’s called…. Drumroll 🥁, The Orgerus Strides! Bravooo! ✨

Heading to the Yvelines, in Île-de-France, for the 36th edition of this historic club event "Le Souffle d’Orgerus". This team of runners and walkers from the region is ready to make you sweat! 🥵 For that, in June, the town transforms into a sporting festival with no less than five formats to please the whole peloton 😉. Fans of tarmac and trails will have plenty to do. From trail, road racing and walking for kids and adults, everyone is invited, obviously! 😁 Also, they’re not here to joke around, since the three major distances are part of the RUN78 challenge RUN78. A tip: train your calves 🦵, because between road and trails there’s no room for kidding around 🏅.

Okay, hype is great, but let’s get serious: the distances 📏 are straightforward. The trio of official distances is simple, first a trail of 21 km ⚡️. The ideal race if you want to come back and taunt your colleagues next Monday, because you just finished a semi-marathon (trail version)! 🥵 After that, the “Traditional Stride” of 12.5 km, of course, right in the beautiful French countryside 🍀. Finally, simple and efficient, a 10 km on road, and plus it’s open to para-sport! 🎀 If you’re not into RUN78 challenges, you can also do a Nordic walking of 12.5 km. Yes, we didn’t say it was a countryside stroll all relaxed… 😌 Last, the advantage is that the race can be done from a young age, so a route of 1.5 km is organized for the future champions 🏅.

What’s for sure is that the organization does not do things half-heartedly for this 36th anniversary 🎂, the mid-life crisis is well behind us 😮‍💨. We skip the disposable cups, here we take eco-responsibility! ♻️ So on race day, don’t forget your own reusable container for the drink stations 🥤. In addition to taking care of the planet 🌍, the event proudly supports the association Warrior Gab for research on rare mitochondrial diseases 🦠. It’s a chance to run with purpose to support great causes 💝.

After that effort, might as well stay a little longer and explore the area. Of course, that’s if you’re not totally cooked… 💤 You can swing by the historical sites or enjoy the Yvelines plains 😁. For a better recovery, the gastronomy is ready to serve 😋. Reminder, we’re in the Île-de-France terroir: no fuss, but plenty to recharge after all those kilometers 🙂‍↕️. So with some Mesnil Camembert, from the Saint-Germain mashed potatoes, from the Omelette Viroflay or a nice slice of Rambolitain, you’ll be perfectly satisfied 🍰.
