Fresnaye Trail

Water, fire, air and earth… No, this isn’t a recap of the four elements we’re offering today, but a description of what awaits you at the Fresnay[e] Trail ✌️. Don’t worry, we’ve only added the fire for flair 😅, although you’ll need to have fire in your legs to beat your best time! 🔥 This trail nature will lead you through every corner of Saint-Cast-le-Guildo, a small coastal village in Brittany, renowned for its long 18-kilometer maritime front. Open to the Bay of Fresnaye in the Northwest, on the Bay of Arguénon to the East and on the Arguenon Estuary to the Southeast, it’s a dream setting waiting for you! 😍

Your rendezvous is set for the 23 April 2023, in the Côtes-d’Armor, and more specifically on the Emerald Coast, for this high-spirited event 😁. On the program, 3 routes that should delight more than a few: 10 km, 17 km, 38 km. Hiking enthusiasts won’t be left out with a 10-kilometer walk following the race route of the same distance. Everyone can participate in the event, and that’s the most important thing 🤗.

Now, let’s talk about the course, because if you haven’t claimed the route yet, this is where it happens. You’ll discover the beauty and vastness of the Emerald Coast, through the mythical GR34 💪. You’ll pass through small villages of the region and the woodlands will bring you cool shade 🌳. Water, how much water do you want! Follow the cliffs and be swept away by these sumptuous landscapes, with the sea stretching to the horizon 🌅. Try the sandy beaches sections, of sand. A small tip: run on the wet sand, it’s less tiring. The race finishes will all be at Matignon. But no, not the Matignon of Prime Minister, the Matignon of Brittany! In short, you’ve understood, it’s a true blend of landscapes and flavors that the organizers have cooked up for you 😉.

The event is also committed to respecting the environment and to protecting natural spaces. It’s only right, this is the playground for trail runners and Finishers from around the world 🏃‍♂️. Honored with the label Trail Runner Foundation, aimed at promoting eco-friendly races, the Fresnaye Trail commits to respecting the course site, using reusable Ecocups and raising awareness among participants for eco-sportive behavior ♻️. Yes, Finishers become a Guide du Routard just for you! 😅📕 Get lost in the cobbled streets of the historic center of Dinan and plan a little trip to the Cap Fréhel and the Cap d’Erquy 🗿. Then savor the famous Saint-Jacques scallops from the Baie de Saint-Brieucaccompanied by a gavotte— this crispy regional biscuit 🤤.
